My name is Jara, and my husband and I have always dreamed of growing our family together. But our path to parenthood has been marked by unexpected pain and loss. Years ago, while leaving an abusive relationship, I made the difficult choice to ensure I wouldn’t have another child with that person. I was told I was having a tubal ligation—a procedure that could one day be reversed. It wasn’t until years later, when I sought that reversal with my loving husband by my side, that I learned the devastating truth: my fallopian tubes had been completely removed without my knowledge or consent. My medical records clearly stated my wishes, yet my ability to conceive naturally was taken from me.

We were heartbroken, but we refused to give up hope. Through fertility testing, we also discovered I have PCOS, which adds another layer of complexity to our journey. The silver lining is that IVF not only offers us a chance to have a baby—it would also help treat the PCOS at the same time. Still, the emotional and financial weight of this process is immense.

We are now turning to IVF as our only option to bring a child into our lives. The costs are overwhelming—medications, procedures, and appointments add up quickly.
